Professional airport snow plough for high-speed operation

The RPS VL snow plough is a professional airport snow plough specifically developed for fast and efficient snow clearing on runways, taxiways, aprons and other large airport surfaces. The specially designed segment geometry lifts and throws snow more efficiently, delivering outstanding performance even at high operating speeds.

Several plough versions and a wide range of optional equipment are available, allowing the plough to be tailored to the requirements of airport operators and professional winter maintenance contractors.

Optimised segment construction

The specially designed segments lift the snow higher, providing more efficient snow throwing and increased clearing performance on airport surfaces. The robust steel construction ensures a long service life, exceptional durability and reliable operation, even in the most demanding winter conditions.

Triple protection system

The proven triple protection system is based on the connection between the plough segment and the main frame, combining preloaded springs, oscillating links, support elements in the form of skids or wheels, and a hydraulic shock protection system. The oscillating links allow the plough to pass safely over even very high obstacles, while the springs ensure constant contact between the cutting edge and the surface. After passing an obstacle, the segment automatically returns to its working position, ensuring continuous and efficient snow clearing.

Available plough versions

The RPS VL snow plough is available in several versions to meet different operational requirements:

• DNO system for increased turning angle and side tilt adjustment
• Wide range of optional equipment

RPS VL 2P – version with folding side wings

The RPS VL 2P version is equipped with two hydraulic folding side wings that allow the working and transport widths to be adjusted. With the wings folded, the plough can safely pass through narrow areas and be transported between locations. When the wings are extended, the working width increases significantly, enabling even faster and more efficient snow clearing of large airport surfaces.

Hydraulic control

The plough is hydraulically controlled via the carrier vehicle’s control lever. If required, it can also be equipped with its own electro-hydraulic system (EHS), enabling operation on vehicles without an integrated hydraulic system.

Mounting on vehicles and utility machines

Various mounting systems are available for installation on airport vehicles, trucks and other utility machines. In addition to standard mounting plates and three-point linkage, the plough can be adapted to different carrier vehicles and utility machines, allowing quick installation and removal.

Selection of cutting edges for different surfaces

The RPS VL snow plough is supplied as standard with Vulkollan® polyurethane cutting edges, providing excellent wear resistance without damaging airport pavements. Cutting edges made from other materials are also available to meet specific customer requirements and different surface types.
